Catherine’s personal journey began in 1999 when the pressures of working in a corporate job lead her to yoga for stress reduction. A year later, she became chronically ill with fibromyalgia, vertiginous migraines and chronic fatigue. After many Doctor’s visits with little relief, Catherine found solace and healing in her yoga practice, enough to get her life back. Realizing that her remarkable transformation was due mostly to yoga, she began to explore a dream of sharing the gift of yoga with others.
Catherine enrolled in a Yoga Teacher Training in July of 2003 at The Yoga Institute of Houston, one of the oldest yoga schools in the country. Her teachers, Lex Gillan, the Swami and Stan Haffner, the Yogi provided the perfect foundation for her to achieve her goal.
In 2006, Catherine received her certification in Prenatal Yoga from Janice Clarfield, a member of the board of the Prenatal Yoga Advisory Committee for Yoga Alliance USA. Many other teachers have influenced Catherine’s teaching including Shiva Rea, founder of the Prana Flow Method and Micheline Berry, founder of Liquid Asana.
Catherine is a Reiki II Practitioner, Certified through the Amrit Yoga Institute in Salt Springs, FL. She is also certified at level II in Thai Yoga Massage from the Florida School of Massage in Gainesville, FL.
Catherine’s intention is to teach classes the way she would want them. Always striving to provide a personalized experience for participants, she believes everyone should emerge from class feeling nurtured, rejuvenated and challenged on all levels.
Kaya started practicing yoga in 2005. She immediately fell in love with the “dance” of yoga, and knew early on in her practice she wanted to teach. After four years of practicing Bikram and Vinyasa flow in Tampa, she took her studies to the east coast of Florida, getting her 200 hour teacher training certification with Didier Razon of Two Suns Rising in Jacksonville.
She has since deepened her teaching practice to include aerial yoga silks, children’s yoga, aqua yoga, prenatal yoga, yoga nidra, and is now pursuing paddleboard yoga. Her certifications have allowed her to touch many lives and form friendships whose bonds are as close as family.
“ Everyone assumes my passion lies with yoga, but if I’m honest with myself, it is the Teaching I love. Helping someone find what I found on the mat, that makes my day. Everyday.”

Maria was born with a passion for sports. In high school she excelled at long jump, netball, and hockey, until in her final year Palindromic Rheumatism diminished her ability. Despite her struggles with this painful auto-immune disease, Maria went ahead to take first place at a United Kingdom Tai-Kwon-Do Association tournament. It was because of her own experiences that she began her study of the incredible science of Yoga, and the mind, body, spirit connection to disease.
In 1986 Maria moved to the United States, where she added certifications in Personal Training, and Post Rehabilitative Exercise to her Yoga experience. Her passion for wellness first led to Florida, and then to North Carolina where she was the first person to teach Yoga at the Haywood Regional Hospital, and the Waynesville Recreation Center. Today Maria is back in Florida, where she combines her years of experience in Yoga, and Exercise Training to work with people at all levels of fitness.
