<a title="Maria Bott" href="http://mariabott.com/Mariasbio.html" target="_blank">Maria Bott</a> studied trauma release techniques at the Institute of Hypnosis and Parapsychology in her native England. She used hypnosis to help her clients with mental and physical trauma related stress in her private practice. Maria wrote and presented her first wellness workshop in 1983 and served as Director of Training for the Institute. In 1986 Maria moved to the United States, where she added certifications in Personal Training, and Post Rehabilitative Exercise to her Yoga experience. Her passion for wellness first led to Florida, and then to North Carolina where she was the first person to teach Yoga at the Haywood Regional Hospital, and the Waynesville Recreation Center. Today Maria is back in Florida, where she combines her years of experience in Yoga, Exercise Training, and Hypnosis to work with people at all levels of wellness.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><img src="http://www.harmonyyogatampa.com/wp-content/uploads/yoga-knots-150x150.jpg" alt="yoga knots" title="yoga knots" width="150" height="150" class="alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-218" />Ever thought about taking a Yoga class but couldn’t imagine yourself as a human pretzel? If you’re like me, you get a good chuckle of the image in your head but the sad part is that we let that get in the way of even trying.</p>
<p>Yoga is about creating balance in the body through developing both strength and flexibility. This is done through the performance of asanas (or postures), each of which has specific physical benefits. It’s not only ok that new students don’t perfectly execute the asanas, but it’s expected. Wow! That’s a relief!</p>
<p>The good news is that most of us start out weak and inflexible so you’re not alone! With practice, you’ll start to notice your strength and flexibility increase. Before long, you’ll notice you’re sleeping better, dealing with stress better, and generally feeling better, both physically and mentally.</p>
<p>So, next time you think about taking a Yoga class, be brave! The benefits are incredible!</p>
